MASSILLON, Ohio — Five different fire departments battled a blaze at historic St. Mary’s Church in Massillon.

Fire officials tell WKYC that it’s a “significant” fire.  The fire was discovered just after noon at the church at 206 Cherry Road N.E. The church was built in 1892. St. Mary’s Church website.

At about 2 p.m., it appeared that fire crews had put out the fire.

Among those at the scene were the Massillon, Canton and Jackson Township fire departments.
